Require a module by where it sits, and declare the services a script fetches.

Release

  1. 0.152.0Require a module by where it sits, and declare the services a script fetches.New2026-10-07

Added

  • 0.152.0Modules by where they sit. On Roblox, a module in the Variables panel can be ReplicatedStorage.Shared.Greeter, game.ReplicatedStorage.Shared.Greeter, script.Parent.Util or a path with :WaitForChild("Name"), and compiles to require(ReplicatedStorage.Shared.Greeter) through the hoisted service. Left unnamed, it is named after the ModuleScript. Only a path is accepted: another call or an operator in the field is an error.
  • 0.152.0Services, in the Variables panel of a Roblox graph: the services the script fetches at the top of the file, in the order you list them. Drag one onto the canvas for a Get Service that reads the same local; Custom Code can use it by name, and completion and DataModel drops in Custom Code start from it.
  • 0.152.0A declared service nothing uses is a warning, so the top of the file lists what the script depends on. On Lune a declared service is an error.
  • 0.152.0Drag a ModuleScript from the DataModel browser onto Modules to declare it by where it sits, or a service onto Services to declare it.
  • 0.152.0Call a declared module's functions. A module declared by where it sits offers its exported functions in the node search, Call Greeter.greet, as a Require Module node's do, and the call goes through the declaration's one require.

Changed

  • 0.152.0Exported types of a module declared by where it sits are offered as Greeter.Type, as a Require Module node's are.
  • 0.152.0Custom Code completion offers the script's declared modules by name.
  • 0.152.0An empty section of the Variables panel is one short line, what goes there or how to add one; hover it for the longer account.
  • 0.152.0Modules explains requiring by where a module sits, and declaring services.
